System Requirements for Software Installation

Hardware and Software - System Requirements

T-SIM Press Room Version - System Requirements

Since T-SIM Press Room Version does not use any CAD data, the requirements to run are very basic. The only real requirement is that it must use Windows (Windows 7, 10 or 11).
We suggest using a laptop with decent ram (8GB) and a good battery. If it will be a computer dedicated to using T-SIM Press room version, we suggest something more rugged to last in the press room environment.

T-SIM Enterprise, T-SIM Full and T-SIM Per-Sim Versions - System Requirements

Standard T-SIM Software versions use heavy CAD data, so we suggest higher specifications to efficiently work with heavy CAD.

T-SIM Hardware Requirements

If your computer can run CATIA V5 without issues, it will work fine with T-SIM. If you are planning to purchase a new computer to use with T-SIM, we suggest you refer to Dassault Systems Hardware & Software Configurations below
If you’re like us, and you like speed, we recommend using the specs below. Better hardware will improve the actual simulation run time. Using the specs below, our average simulations run in less than 30 min.
Recommended Computer Specs
  1. Intel Core i9
  2. 64 GB DDR4 Memory
  3. M2 mounted SSD
  4. NVIDIA Quadro P6000 24GB Graphics Card
  5. Windows 10 Pro or Business
  6. 2 monitors are recommended

T-SIM Software Requirements

A local installation of CATIA is required on the workstations or laptops where it will be run. *Please note, remote installations of CATIA accessed via scripts or VPN’s will not function properly with T-SIM.

Be sure your installation of CATIA is done in the English Language. Some functionality in T-SIM requires interaction with CATIA and the language used for certain commands will fail if it’s not in English.

Supported CATIA versions include:
 - V5R2019 sp4 (R29)
 - V5R2020 sp3 (R30)
 - Ideal license is CAT3DX or Basic MD1 +ST1 (or a step capable license)
In order to utilize ALL of T-SIM Software capabilities and/or the T-SIM Data Tool Software Capabilities, a CATIA STEP License is Required.

Not sure if you have a local installation? Here’s a quick way to check...Right-Click on your desktop shortcut you use to launch CATIA. If the Target path starts with "C:\Program Files\Dassault Systems” then congratulations, you have a local installation. If not, you may want to contact your IT department, and request they install CATIA locally before you try running T-SIM.

Running a version of CATIA that’s not shown above? Send us a screenshot of the version you are running by selecting the Help drop-down menu and picking on About CATIA V5. Our Software support team will do what they can to accommodate you or assist you in getting a supported version loaded onto your system.

T-SIM Data Tool - System Requirements

Since T-SIM Data Tool is also using heavy CAD data, we suggest using the same specs as required for T-SIM Software (above).
